Japanese restaurants are invading the city this summer — but they’re staying mind-bogglingly stingy with seating.
First came Ikinari Steak, a Japanese chain that launched stateside in the East Village which requires patrons to stand while tucking into a $55 filet mignon.
Now comes Sushi by Boū, offering what it calls a Japanese speed meal — a 30-minute omakase feast for $50 — at a four-seat eatery it opened at the Gansevoort Market last month.
If you can’t find a chair there, a second outpost with six seats is slated to open in early July at the Sanctuary Hotel, 132 West 47th Street.
